Latest Release: v0.4 Beta

Controls
Player1:
-Movement: Directional Arrows
-Attack: Spacebar

Player2:
-Movement: W,A,S,D
-Attack: Left Control
_____________________________________________________________________
It has only what you see in the screenshot right now.
-Also, I have money to buy the program in cash, but I literally don't know how to buy it[or with cash] I need my parents help :P

Known bugs:
1. If you hold spacebar while moving, then release the directional arrows, you keep moving in the direction even though there is no directional input. (Not a horrible bug, also fixable)

To come:
~ Customizable Sprites [You technically can right now, but I want it to be easy to do]
~Animated Water
~Human Character (Should be easy, since I have something to base it off of)
~AI
~Name Input
~More Levels (Needs AI first...)
~Level Editor
~External Graphics (Editable)
~Team Color Palette (May be hard)

(See this was made in the free version of the program, so some advanced features[rotating sprites is one we need] aren't in yet.)

Not sure what will absolutely be in the next release, just a second player[and thus the ability to choose between tank or human]

Post any bugs you find.
There really isn't much to it right now, I just wanted you guys to understand what this is about first. :P

MrMr: Fixed Your First Post!

MrMister - December 20, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
Wow... Nice job.

I can't wait 'til the next release.

(Please let this show up in Google searches...)

Felix-the-Ghost - December 20, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
Wow, I was editing that post, glad it transferred correctly :P

Also those graphics are all MS Paint

MrMister - December 20, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Lol yea.

Also, stickied.

Felix-the-Ghost - December 20, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)
Remember this is not finished,

That "google search" was just an example,(Although I did find SMW that way)

We still get publicity by submitting it to various game sites.

Also test please.

Right now I need to re-upload to rapidshare, etc.

MrMister - December 20, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Yes, I know it's not finished.

Google!

Yea... That would work too.

I am right now.

Quick! Re-Upload!

Felix-the-Ghost - December 20, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Re-uploaded.
Also Megaupload is pretty un-userfreindly, huh?

Also lol at your new forum badge.

MrMister - December 20, 2007 07:44 PM (GMT)
I like the wooden SMB3 Tank. B)

Anyways... for re-uploading purposes, I recommend SendSpace.
(You don't need to sign up to load and no waiting times for DL.)

EDIT: I just tested it... Very basic for now.

Felix-the-Ghost - December 20, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
Did you press F1

also re-uploading

Hey, Sendspace is pretty cool
very high upload limit=yes

MrMr: For Striking-Out text use BBcode not HTML.

Felix-the-Ghost - December 21, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
Also I've added a second player(more work than I thought), and the "status" thing in the screenshot shows your current sprite status.
Based on this it should be easy to make a third player.

I don't know what to do with a fourth player(I need to figure out how to alter the controls ingame)

Also human character is being worked on. ^_^

Is anyone else going to test this?(Noones really been online...)

MrMister - December 21, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
I did.

Felix-the-Ghost - December 23, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
In the small amount of time I had to work on it today I managed to get the health system and display to work ^_^

Felix-the-Ghost - December 24, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
I guess I'll post a newer version ~Tomorrow since this has no pouplarity
(then again, its the holiday season)

MrMister - December 24, 2007 07:37 PM (GMT)
I Like the idea... Lotsa potential!

DXMachina - December 30, 2007 03:31 PM (GMT)
ok 4shared is being Superrr... whenever i click the download link, it doesnt download, it sends me to whatever Ad page was coming out of the link. cuz when you put your mouse over the link, ads for Used cars or Casino sites pop up next to it. how do i fix this and make it work?

MrMister - December 30, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)
Didja click Download File?

Guest - December 30, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
Uh... its coming along good, I've got an AI going on, could you guys deal with it if the AI wasn't Einstein for the first release with AI?

I need ideas about how to set up the menus.

Lets see, do we first choose if we want to be human or tank, or 1/2 players, V.s. player or AI?

Also I'll reupload it and edit post.

BTW, this is FTG, sorry I forgot to log in. :P

Felix-the-Ghost - December 30, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Felix-the-Ghost here to clarify that the above post previous post was indeed made by me.
Also I fixed a bug where second player can shoot with either <Ctrl> button

Button configuration appears tangible in the future, but I really need some sort of vision for menus, etc.

lol two pages.

MrMister - January 2, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
Good job, Sounds like your commited to your project... I like that. :)

Anyways... My menus are usually just standard Halo 1 style.

EDIT: Added Download Mirrors for BZ v0.4

Fechdog - January 7, 2008 12:01 AM (GMT)

Keep up the work. <_<

Felix-the-Ghost - February 9, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
Who was that guest...?

Also I guess people want me to do something ~_0

Well I plan on remaking this in C++ (Mr. Mister do you know C++?)

Doing so can implement palette swaps, level editor, and external/editable graphics and high portability, which we all really want.

I just need to buy a book and find a good coder and/or compiler; Most of this was in coding anyway, I've looked at the syntax for C++, and its very similar, it would be great if I could find an index of syntax for C++... I am very effecient in pseudo-code, just what to use for actual syntax...I need a syntax index.

MrMister - February 10, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
I know very little C++... I know more C#.

MrMister - February 16, 2008 06:38 PM (GMT)
So how's progress?

Felix-the-Ghost - February 16, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
Well I couldn't find a book on C++ in a popular bookstore(I found a C# book for 40$, I might buy a used book instead), I might check our public library. I found pretty good sites to tutor online but I only looked once, I liked how it assumed no programming experience at all, specifically no C experience, apparently learning C before C++ is a disadvantage because you have to unlearn C. Good thing I'm good at pseudo-code.
I might get back to work on coding in the current language, to add a few more things for you guys during the wait.
Just because I haven't been programming doesn't mean I'm not doing anything-I've been making graphics and revamping current graphics, brainstorming on pseudo code, etc.
But I really think this will end up in C++ syntax.

MrMister - April 10, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
*cough* How's the game coming along? T_T

Felix-the-Ghost - April 11, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
What does T_T mean?
Crying?

Also I'm gonna do it in C++
The syntax is not hard to learn...

I'm gonna get a book somehow

But I won't ditch this game no longer how long it takes

MrMister - April 11, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
k that's good! :)

T_T means Eyebrows lowered.

Fechdog - April 12, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
I've been doing some basic C programming lately, but I will be of no help!

Felix-the-Ghost - May 2, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
Things are going good. :D

MrMister - May 2, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
good! Post this on the new forum. XD

Fechdog - May 2, 2008 01:50 AM (GMT)
Do you have any screenshots yet?

Felix-the-Ghost - May 2, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
um...no

I mean the planning/learning is going good.

I'm not gonna touch this until I have it all figured out...

I'll make some mock-up's for you guys though.

I ordered a C++ book from Amazon, it'll be here next week.
I've been following some online tutorials anyway, but good to keep it professional, right?

This game is gonna rival SMW, I swear it.

I haven't looked into SDL(smw uses it)
I might use the Allegro library.

When SMW1.8 comes out, I'll study that as well...

The Level editor's gonna be good;
For those of you who've played Battle Zone, you know the Player Panels on the left and right sides of the screen-
these will allow for a great GUI, anti-n00b level editor, I've sketched it out last week.
